I realize that Murphy is a very common name but I am hopeful that I may have finally found my Great Great Grandmother. Kate Murphy was born May 23 1847 to John Murphy and Mary Doyle. I am hoping this is her. The name of the town is Davidstown and I can not decipher the name underneath the Baptismal entry  it looks like Bosbason??  Kate came to USA in 1865-1866 to NYC and married my Great Grandfather James Sheridan  They had 7 Children, 5 survived   Patrick, James, John, Mary, Joseph (Peter)  I believe there was a Joseph and Kate who did not survive   If anyone knows anything about them I would love to hear back  Thank you Danny Sheridan NYC FDNY

  • Another Murphy descendant here. My great-great grandparents James Murphy and Mary Mulligan had many children baptized in the Ferns parish, which I hope to visit late this summer. While I am still assembling information from parish records, I do note that one of their children (Patt?), born (?) 4 March 1862 and bap (?) 5 March 1862 had as a sponsor one John Doyle. This suggests that my Murphys may be connected to yours, as sponsors were most often siblings of a baby's parents, and you have a Murphy marrying a Doyle. Let's stay in touch on this. • Im starting to lose hope of ever finding her    I believe she was born in 1847/48?  went to NYC in 1864/65. I have no information on her at all.  When they went to NYC they settled on the East Side in Saint Gabriel Parish
