My great-grandmother Bridget Murphy (d. 1909) was born in County Wexford to James Murphy and Mary Mulligan around 1874. I see several baptisms of children of this couple in the Ferns parish records during the period 1862-1892. Bridget's siblings included Michael, John Andrew, Patrick, Annie, and Mary, who all migrated to America; and James Murphy, Philip Murphy, Mary Murphy, and Kate Murphy, who remained in Ireland. Those who settled in America lived in New York State or North Carolina. Annie (Murphy) McEneany of Brooklyn, NY, died on board ship in 1949 while returning from a visit to Ireland. Surely James Murphy and Mary Mulligan have descendants who may still live in the Ferns area?

UPDATE:  I visited in September 2016 and found this family's baptismal records in the church book at Davidstown. My great-grandmother was baptized there at Christmas of 1867. The record noted that this family was of Moneytucker, a settlement about 5 km to the west. A so-called half-parish exists uphill from Moneytucker, with a church built at Courtnacuddy in 1859. However, records are maintained for this half-parish only at Davidstown. I would very much like to connect with any other descendants from or cousins of this Murphy family.
