Hi i have allready posted on message board about the Oneill/neil family with some excellent feedback.

I would like to try and document my ancestry in their parish of origin which is Kilbeggan Westmeath

My great grandfather Charles Oneill/neil was baptised on the 7th jan 1823 Killucan.His father James and his mother Sarah Halfpenny.havent got any info on Sarah and James.

My great grandmother Anne Cronly was baptised on the 4th jan 1823 Kilbeggan. Her fathers name was James and mothers name was Anne Daly.havent got any info on James and Anne.

They were married in Kilbeggan parish on 1st feb 1843.

Charles and Anne had 5 children

James Charles  baptism date 8th may 1844     Patrick baptism date 4th april 1849        John 1851.

          Matthew baptism  date 18th june 1853.    Mary  baptism date 20th june 1857.

I have the info on matthew and John who settled in Scotland in 1880 and 1890,i have hit a brickwall concerning James,Patrick and Mary.

       My great grandfather John Oneill born 1851 married Catherine Whelehan on the 13th april 1874 in Kilbeggan parish.

They had 8 children,6 born in Ireland 2 in Scotland.

Charles dob 3rd feb 1875 Tullamore 

michael baptized 1st march 1881 Clara.

Patrick baptized                   1880

John    baptized 1st may 1885    Clara

Susan baptized 1st dec 1888   Clara  (my grandmother)

James baptized 1st dec 1888

Mary born 1st may 1891   Coatbridge Scotland

Matthew                 1892 Coatbridge Scotland

I have all their birth/death/marraige certs

 

Matthew oneill born 1853 married Mary Mc Conville on the31st dec 1885 in St Allyuses rc church ,Blytheswood Glasgow.

They had 3 children and stayed in Coatbridge Scotland.

James 1890-1892

Margaret 1896-1896

Elizabeth 1904-1904

All buried in St Josephs rc cemetry Airdrie.

    Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!

    I was not able to find marriage info on either the James Cronly/Anne Daly marriage or the Chrles O'Neil/Sarah Halfpenny marriage.

    I did find on Roots Ireland that Anne had one oldersister named Esther born in 1821. Charles had five younger siblings as follows: Ellen 1826 Joseph 1827 Maria 1830 Frances 1832 William 1834.

    You can look at the actual parish registers to see the entries.
