Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and found three baptismal records for children of John Sheridan and Margaret Keefe and I also located a marriage record for John and Margaret. All records were in the Tallow RC parish. The record for Judith could be your Johanna. They lived in Lisfinny townland which is in the civil parish of Lismore and Mocollop. Do you think this is your family?

Roger,
Many thanks for your reply. This information is fantastic! Yes I agree with you that Judith may possibly be Johanna. I have the death certificates for Catherine and Johanna and their parents are listed as John and Margaret (Keeffe) of Waterford.
Can you expalin to me what is meant by Lisfenny townland?
Thanks again,
Adrian Brown

Adrian:
Townlands are the smallest land division in Ireland. They can be anywhere from 100-1000 acres in size. I just looked up Lisfinny and it was a smaller townland about 115 acres.

Hey Adrian and Roger, I'm a bit late to this game, but thanks for starting and participating in this conversation. I just found the parish registers for these people on ancestry and I was initially dubious of the translations (the original writing is awkward, and so ancestry has transcribed one of them to Joannes Shundow!). I still think Judith a bit of a stretch for Johanna though. However this additional information helps a lot! So thanks again. Craig

Oh and the ancestry transcription for Mary's surname (b1837) is Rierdan!
