I have traced my gggrandparents, Thomas Vaughan and Margaret Barry Vaughan to Knockanore Parish in County Waterford. I find a marriage record for them in this parish, in 1844. I also find a baptismal record for my ggrandfather, Patrick Vaughan, born in February 1844. I find no information for this family living in County Waterford other than these records. Thomas does not apprear in Griffith's valuation or tithe applotment books. I found other Vaughan's in Knockanore Parish around this time period. Michael Vaughan (brother of Thomas Vaughan?) and his wife Catherine Barry (sister of Margaret Barry?). Michael and Catherine had one child, a daughter named Ellen born in 1838. A Timothy Vaughan and Mary Brown are also listed in this parish as having several children baptised, but there is no marriage record. Timothy's townland is listed as Boola, their children were: Dermot born 1836, Mary born 1842, Patrick born 1845, another Patrick (first Patrick may have died in infancy) born 1851 and Timothy born 1853. Another Vaughan family listed in this parish is Jeremiah Vaughan and Eleanor Ahern, married 1839, they have two children baptised in this parish, they are: Michael Vaughan born 1842 and John Vaughan born 1844. I have searched familysearch.org, Ancestry and several other tools for more information on any of these families, but come up short. I do know that my ggrandfather emigrated to America as a young child, around 1853 but I do not know for sure if he emigrated with his parents or perhaps another family. I can't find a passenger list with a matching Thomas Vaughan or Margaret Vaughan, but I do see several entries for a child named Patrick Vaughan. I am wondering if anyone else out there has been searching this family, or if there may still be Vaughan's in this area. When I searched Ireland reaching out for a Knockanore Parish community, I did not find one, therefore I have joined the Waterford community. I know this is alot of information, but if anyone has common family, I would love to get in touch. Thank you!

Dear Marie
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Our site is based (mostly) on the civil parish structure and as you can see from the link below there are two Knockanore townlands in Co. Waterford: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/placenames/index.cfm?fuseaction=Simp…
You don't mentioned the family religious denomination but records for the RC parish of Knockanore (Kilcockane) begin in 1816 and for Lismore's two RC parishes 1849 and 1820 respectively, with gaps in each series. You can see these here by clicking on the relevant parish:

I hope someone researching the family name will be in touch - have a look too at the Early Birth and Marriage Index:

Best wishes
