My great grandparents Thomas Fitzgerald and Ellen Stack on their sons marriage record at St John's Church Ballygunner says they were from Ballinameela. Thomas junior and his Catherine Keane worked on the Little Island Ballinakil so I assuming thats why they married in St John's
I have tried for years to find this side of my family.
I think Thomas Fitzgeralds father was from knockboy and he was from here as well but apart from the Griffiths valuation and newspaper reports of events he was mentioned in I have no birth certificates still.

Dear Toni:
Thank you for your query to the Ireland Reaching Out message board. Ballinameela is in the parish of Aglish and there is a John Fitzgerald and Ellen Stack family who have a number of children born between 1841 and 1858. The residences of baptism for this family include Ballinameela, Ross, Graigue, and other townlands in the parish of Aglish. The information is contained in the Roots Ireland database which is a subscription site: www.rootsireland.ie. You can also view for free the parish register of Aglish on the National Library of Ireland website at: https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632088#page/1/mode/1up
The baptism record with the Ballinamela reference is that of Michael Fitzgerald baptised 10 May 1848 to John Fitzgerald andMary Stack. I have screenshotted it for your reference. Please let us know if you have any further questions. I will also copy this post to others with Waterford connections who may be able to assist.
Kind regards,
Jane
