Patrick Collins, b. abt 1800 and Margaret Hickey, b. 1802 were my 3G grandparents. A Collins cousin of mine located a parish record for their marriage in Knocknore, County Waterford, March 6, 1821, and the christening there of their first 4 children: Mary (March 22, 1822), Thomas (May 21, 1823), Richard (March 16, 1825), and Ellen (March 29, 1830). Their next child, my GG grandmother Mary Ann, was born in Eastport, Maine, US, on July 4, 1834, and 3 other children followed: John (b. 1828, Boston), Hannah "Annie" (b. January 6, 1843, Boston), and finally Lawrence (b. Februry 27, 1846, Royal Oak, Michigan, US). I have not found an immigration record yet, but based on the dates of the children's births, they would have left Ireland for the US sometime between mid-1830 and late 1833 or so.
I know quite a bit about Patrick and Margaret's descendants in the US, but nothing about their ancestors, who lived in Knocknore around 1800 when Patrick and Margaret were born, and presumably also before that. I would be grateful for any information available on either of those families.
I'm posting here because I don't find Knocknore under the list of Waterford parishes, even though it is referred to as such in the information I have. I looked for clarification on the web but found conflicting informaton there, as well; in some places it's referred to as a parish, others as part of a "united" parish, and others, neither. Clarification from a native of the area would also be greatly appreciated!

Hi
You can view information on the civil parishes in the RC parish of Knockanore here: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/rcparishmaps/index.cfm?fuseact…
The site is also useful if you BROWSE information regarding County Waterford.
