My 3rd Great Grandfather, William Williams b. 9 Apr 1792, I believe in Kill St. Nicholas Parish. He married Letitia, surname unknown, b. 1794. They were married, I think in Ireland, and emigrated to the US in the early 1820's. Their oldest child, Margaret was born in New York State in 1824. I have a possible parents of William as John Williams and Ann. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. William and Letitia's son John Williams, b. 1832, was my great-great grandfather. I have quite a few photos of him. He was a carpenter, and lived in a small town in upstate New York, Fowlerville, Livingston County. I would love to share any information that I have about this family. Thank you for your time.

Dear Valerie
Feel free to add any info you have and your photo to our Chrinicles project here
It would seem that records for that parish do not begin until 1809 for baptisms though marriages begin a little earlier in 1780 though there are many gaps in particular between 1798 and 1815 and again between 1820 and 1837. Is William's date of birth from family info or from a record?
Best wishes

Thank you Clare for your reply. The information I have on William Williams is from this file on ancestry.com - Ireland, Select Births and Baptisms, 1620-1911. I know that Williams is a common name, and so difficult to trace. I'm not sure if this is the correct information, as I also have a passenger list where William Williams came to the US in 1805 as a 14 year old with other family members. This family was from Strabane. So I'm pretty confident he came from Ireland, and his year of birth is comfirmed in several US census records, as well as his Irish birth. Thank you so much for your time. If you can offer any other suggestions for me, that would be wonderful. And if you run across anyone that needs help with Minnesota genealogy questions, I can certainly try to assist them.
