irish history first

in 1649 king charles the 1 was exacuted ,then oliver cromwell came to ireland confiscating the better land fromthe murphy family

in 1649 oliver cromwell returned to england calling onthe dunford family who owned all the land inlancashire and yorkshire and told them there was free land for them in ireland aland grant

well the dunford family came over and took on this land but they nbeed to trade cattle sheep horses poultry seeds with the murphy family farmers so they did and soon started marrying the murphys and sharing the land, now my family are dunfords .and when i wrote about this and the dunford family comming over with william the conqueror .after the death of harold william said he had to give something to the two brothers generals dunford who helped him so much in winning the war..so he gave them lancashire and yorkshire all inthe doomsday book.

n ow since writing about this i have had so many letters from histrorians telling me they have found out more

in lancashire and yorkshire there isthe dunford river .dunford ccastle.dunford village dunford road proving thisstory is true.

also in the census of wealthy landowner.1273 john dunford largest farmin england in buckinghamshire.another dunford john dunford .and a james dunford in yorkshire .

now this is something i never new .first you cantrace people who ownded land farmsand wealthy landowners in

enclosiure maps and awards (parish records)genguide the genealogist uk BMD and more onlinethis process began in12 century firs census and become widespread in 1750

also in ireland land holding  1760 to 1880

at www historyhome.co.uk/c-eight/ireland/ire-land(htm

during the rein of charles the first 1600 to 1649  charleswas indebt and asaked the goverment to help him tax more but they refused so he asked thewealthy farmers the dunfords inlancashire but they refused  so charles espoused the royal cause and took away there farms which they have had since william the first 1066

so they bought up farms in england

but some of them realised there waslots of land in america lots ofthe dunford sailed onthe huge armada of three masted sails ships called WHITE SAILS.which plied the stormy atlantic

amongst the first settlers in north america was john dunford from lancashire who purchased land huge farms on the eastern seaboard in 1718 .james dunford brought land in new york.more dunfords went to pennsylvania their homesfor yearsstill there.in new foundland john dunford bought battle harbour  labrador,

fr5omthisport of entry dunfords made there way west joining the wagon trains to the prairiesto trhe west coast

during the american war of independance many dunford fought inthis you will find captain dunford.

so one history writter wrote the dunford family fromthe two brother generals who fought with william the first in 1066,were made earls lords ,in
