Hello cousins all !!
I wish to introduce myself and my ancestors to everyone. My mother's side came from the McCarrons of Killyfuddy, outside Trillick. The head of household was Felix McCarron and his wife Hannah. The first child was Catherine (my mother's mother). Catherine was always called Cassie. Cassie emigrated to Brooklyn, New York City in 1889 at the age of 15. Her other siblings were John ( a butcher who later moved to Derry), Mary Anne (married John Maguire of Trillick), Sarah Jane (married James McSorley of Trillick [they lived in NY City]), Margaret (married Hugh McBrien) and Charles Patrick and Michael who both went to NY City and were assumed killed or missing in World War I.
My 2nd cousin Conor Maguire lives on the old homestead property in Killyfuddy.
I would be happy to share what I know with any who are interested.
Best regards,
Tom Little

Dear Tom
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and thanks for your message
Have you looked at www.familysearch.org or www.rootsireland.ie any further records/information about your McCarron ancestors? Killfaddy is located in the Civil Parish of Clogher, Co. Tyrone as you can see from the link below:
The records for the Roman Catholic Parish of Clogher begin in 1856 while the Church of Ireland records begin in 1763.
You could, if you haven't already, search the Tithe Applotment Books 1823-1837 and the Griffith?s Valuation, (a land survey taken between 1847 and 1864) for occurrences of the family in that area. Although they only record the name of the head of household, it can prove useful.
Tithes: http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/index.jsp
Griffiths: http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml?action=nameSearch
You could also have a look at the 1901/1911 Census for similar occurrences: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
Best of luck with your search
