My great-great-great-grandfather John Gormley came to Medway, Massachusetts, USA, from Ballymacelroy in 1848 or 1849. I've learned Ballymacelroy is near Ballygawley and that they are variants of the parish name Errigal Kieran, which is also called Errigal Keerogue. Whew!

When John married Mary Bridget Sheridan in 1855, he said his parents' names were Owen and Mary Gormley. I'd be interested in learning more about Owen and Mary and about John's birth (he said it was March 17, 1826). There were other Gormleys in Medway, and I'd be interested in knowing whether or how they were related. I'd also like to know whether John knew Mary Bridget Sheridan in Ballymacelroy.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Roots Ireland has baptismal records for Errigal Kieran RC parish starting in 1834. I did a quick search and there were no Gormley baptismal records anywhere in Tyrone with parents Owen and Mary. So John's baptismal record and records for any siblings are not available. A link to the parish register is here  http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0188 the register is from 1847-1881.

I also looked at the 1861 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Errigal Keerogue civil parish and there were a few Gormley/Gormly records including an Owen in Findrum townland. Not sure if this record is for John's father. There is one Sheridan record also.
