    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Records for Omagh/Drumragh RC parish do not start until 1846 so there are no records available on your McGarveys.

  • Hello,
Hopefully you are still in contact ...
Omagh is the main town in Tyrone...
There are quite a number of Mc Garvey families in the surrounding parishes. I think the main one would be Errigal Ciaran or Ballygawley as it is locally known, also in Beragh Parish which was known as Ballintacker in the 1800's.
Parish records for both parishes can be researched on line free.....www.registers.nl.ie
The postal address for both parishes have Omagh .
    ie. Ballygawley, Omagh, Co.Tyrone.
    Beragh, Omagh , Co. Tyrone.
It is possible that your ancesters used Omagh which is in Drumagh parish when arriving in America.
    Regards
    Briege
