I am researching the Mullen Family.
My 3 x Great Grandfather was Alexander Mullen born abt 1795. Griffiths Valuation has him living on 1 Acre in Townland Aghafad , Parish Donaghedy, Tyrone.
Alexander Mullen married Mary Porter born abt 1805.
Their Son John Mullen born abt 1830 - d 1898 Plantation, Glasgow. Married Isabella Gordon on the 10th Sep 1852 at Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church Tyrone.
Marriage information states that Isabella Gordon b Camsus 9 Dec1827 - d 1882 Registration District, Strabane, Tyrone., Residence at Kerraghan at the time of her marriage.. Her Father is listed as William Gordon and her Mother Anne.
Children of John Mullen and Isabella Gordon:
John Mullen b 1860
Mary Mullin b 1861
My Great Grandfather - Thomas Mullin b 1866 to d Govan Lanarkshire Scotland. 1924
Isabella Mullin b 11 July 1867 at Aughafad, Plumbridge, Tyrone
Annie Mullin b 1869
Sarah Mullin b 7 Jan 1870 at Aughafad, Plumbridge, Tyrone
It would appear that after the Death of Isabella Gordon the Family moved to Glasgow. Apparently as time passed over the next generation some members of the Family changed to Milne.
I am not sure if the eldest son John Mullen and eldest daughter Mary went to Scotland or stayed in Ireland.

Hi, ever come upon a Thady (short for Thadeus - speliing?) MULLIN whose daughter Mary married in South Australia in 1861 at the age of 25? The groom was Francis Maguire, son of Michael.
Cheers

HI Trish
Thanks for your quick reply. This Mary (Kapunda) is the person in question.
I don't know which county Mary or Thady came from. I've yet to find her ships list entry into SA. Her stated age at marriage was 25, so presumably she arrived as a single female.
Any records about her or Thady's county of origin, or her emigrant vessel to SA will be appreciated.
Does Reddy Park hold any significance for you?
Cheers

Hi Trish
The link threw up the home page only. Does it provide the name of Mary's vessel to SA, or other evidence of Co Tyrone origin.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for that, all valuable info, I see she is named as Muller/Miller of the ships list w. Co. Galway. Of course handwriting and transciption can bring in errors, so I'm wondering how definite it is that her name was actually Mullin, and dad Thaddeus, and which County he was from. Is there a .pdf for the groom Francis?
Do you know of a source to see the original ships' passenger lists??, and also the applications they made to CLEC in order to be accepted as emigrants ?
Cheers
