Hello.
I'm looking for information about the family of Charles Gillin, born approx.1795 and his burial marker says he was a native of Parish Clonoe of County Tyrone, Ireland. He married Elizabeth (Eliza?) Moore or Murrin in County Tyrone in approc. 1832. The immeigrated to the state of Iowa in the United States in about 1844.
Any insights you can offer is most appreciated.

Unfortunately I have not been able to locate Charles Gillin in Ireland but I can see thatb they must have emigrated long before 1844 as the first child Mary J. Gillin was born on the 9th Occtober 1836 in Bethlehem PA. First child born in Iowa was Ann in 1842, before 1842 the family also lived in Ohio and Illinois.
What is the source of Charles's birth in Ireland? There is also no marriage record for a Charles Gillin

Hi Anne Marie.
Thank you for your effort. The source of information is his headstone. You can see it on www.findagrave.com. He is buried (along with his wife) in Holbrook, Iowa. I've attached a word doc with a photo.
I do appreciate the attempt. Laura
