Birth parents

Hi Kimberley,

There are 5 baptism/birth records of John McGurk born 1835 in Tyrone on www.rootsireland.ie/

I went through all the parishes and found that 2 were registerd in Termonmaguirk R C parish and 1 each in Kildress R C, Coalisland R C and Cookstown Registration District but none of these are in Aghaloo!!

The only marriage I could find of a McGurk to Ann Hetherington was William Maguirk in 1832 in Leitrim which is no use at all!

The closest birth I could get for Francis McGurk with parents John & Ann (not Heatherington) was 1867 in Tyrone.

I could not find a birth record for Ann Heatherington; the name is English I suspect.

You can access the Tithe Applotments free online; they were compiled 1823-37 

There are 75 McGurks but none are in Tyrone

Griffiths Valuation - also free to search - has 61 'McGurke's in Kildress Tyrone but none in Termomaguirk

I hope another volunteer can find more for you.
