McGrath, Freeze, Quigley, Quinona, families

Hi Kerryn

I couldn't find Catherine on www.rotsireland.ie/ but did find siblings'  baptism records - all in Youghalarra:

Matthew 1832 Martin 1833 John 1836 Bridget 1837 Margaret 1838 Mary 1840 Denis 1841 & Patrick 1843

I couldn't find the marriage record of Patrick & Mary so didn't get parents' names to find siblings.

No luck with Bridget either I'm afraid.

Youghalarra is not in the list of parishes of the death/burial records 

The earliest Irish Census in which Tipperary info is included is 1851 but there are no McGraths in Tipp!

Griffiths Valuation (free online at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/) has 5 McGraths in Youghalarra in 1850 - William X 2 Matthew X2 & Dennis The record gives the addresses so you might want to check it out.

No luck with Tithe Applotments - there are 244 McGraths but no Youghalarra records.

Thanks so much for that.  Are there any records for the "Freeze" family at all?  I did find a Robert Freeze married Sarah Maloney of KIlmore on 2/3/1829

I am thinking Robert may be Mary's brother?

The Bridget in my tree was Catherine's cousin she was a witness at Catherines marriage and I have now found someone researching her family and they have Bridgets parents as Matthew McGrath and Catherine O'Brien

The only approx dates for the Freeze/Frieze family is for Mary Freeze who married Patrick McGrath.  I think she would have been born 1800 - 1810  and no idea what county etc

I know that this reply is three years after the original posting, but I can tell you that the baptismal sponsor named Malachy Quigley is one of the Quigley’s from Carrigatogher (Ryan) townland in the Civil parish of Burgess.  Several of these Quigleys emigrated in the mid 1840s to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.  James Edward Quigley, RC Bishop of Buffalo, NY, and later elevated to 2nd Archbishop of Chicago is a prominent member of this clan.
