I am interested in Mary McCormick and would be grateful for any information that you might be able to share with me.
Mary McCormick was born around 1831 in Creggane according to her obituary. She came to the United States before 1858 and married John Touhey (spelled Twohey in the United States) who was born in around 1817 in Pallasgrean and Templebredon, Co. Limerick. I’m not sure where they were married. They had all of their eleven children in Chicago from 1858 to 1886. John died in 1892 and Mary died on 3 Jun 1901 and is buried in Evanston, Illinois in the Calvary Cemetery.
Mary had a brother Richard, born around 1834. He came to the United States in 1854 and lived in Blue Island, Illinois where he was a farmer. He married Julia Harrington and they had twelve children. He died the 28 Nov 1907 in Chicago, Illinois.
I am planning a visit to Ireland in August and would greatly appreciate any further information about this family.
Thank you.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The only record I can locate in Youghalarra RC records is the 1836 record below. I assume you do not have the parents names? Here is a link to the parish register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0759

Hi Roger,
I was so pleased to get your speedy reply. And you are correct, I do not have Mary's parents' names. So this is interesting information. Thanks for your research.
I am curious as to if you are living in Ireland. My home is in Concord, Massachusetts where our revolutionary was started. I am looking forward to my first trip to Ireland this summer.
Thanks again. Susie

Susie:
I grew up and went to school in Philadelphia but I have been in Maryland for almost 45 years. We have been in Concord a couple times over the years. My wife and I have been to Ireland eight times and will likely return in September. Have a great trip. Are you renting a car or on a tour?

HI Roger,
I am going with a friend who goes to Ireland annually and we are renting a car. I'm lucky to have someone who knows Ireland so well. Should be great.
