  • Hi Annette,

Have you gone through the passenger lists to see if these boys are on it.  My own g grandfather emigrated to australia in 16 64 and the reords are amazing.  Place of birth and parents names etc.  Australia has wonderful sites with all these rexords online.

I have tried the irishfamilyhistoryfoundation website which is a great site with parish records, however i didn't seem to find them there.  (brief look, plkease try yourself).

there are a few counties not listed on this site so the irish government have put these records on a site called irishgenealogy.ie (totally free).

I think the name stack is a Kerry name. You might try star there.

I found one thomas stack with a father named edmund and a mother named Johanna Barrett.  He was baptized 24th Feb 1841 in Ballybunion Kerry.

Try that part of ireland and see how you get on.  But definitely look for the their passenger list info.

    regards,

    Anne K Dennehy

  • Hi Anne, Thanks for your helpful reply.

Thomas sailed on the 'Emma Eugenia' in 1858 which says he was 14 years, from Tipperary, so born about 1844.

His Australian death certificate says he was from Tipperary and 60yr at death in 1896, so born about 1836.

So I guess somehwere in this range. His marriage certicate and police employment records don't give an age. Sigh.

I'll look at the website you mentioned and at Kerry records, thanks.

    Regards, Annette (Western Australia)
