  • Hi Harry

There is a record of the baptism of Patrick Byrne with father John in Tipperary 1831 on www.rootsireland.ie/

    http://ifhf.rootsireland.ie/quis.php?page=1&confirmPageView=Y

It costs to view the full record which will have the parish and HOPEFULLY his mother's name.

There are 2 matches for William Byrne 1823

    http://ifhf.rootsireland.ie/quis.php?page=1&confirmPageView=Y

There are 111 Byrnes in Tipperary in the Tithe Applotments (taken 1823-37 & free online) including 14 John Byrnes.

  • Thank you for your help with this. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong with the search but wnen I have been on roots ireland link and put in Patrick with father John and 1831 it does not find a match. Also is it possible to narrow using wyse the middle name or is this unlikely to come up in the baptismal record?

Any further advice will be very welcome but in the meantime I will look at the x2 William 1823 records,

    Many thanks and best wishes

    Harry

  • Hi Harry

I hope you were able to find Patrick's record this time.

If you still have trouble let me know and I'll get it for you - but I'm leaving for ireland in 2 days!

In my experience the site does not respond to the entry of a second name but it's worth a try.
