Belshier in Tipperary

I could find no records for the surname Belshier. I'm wondering if possibly the surname was Belcher in Ireland. I did check the Roots Ireland indexes but could not locate any records for Eliza Belshier/Belcher from 1818-1838.

Were Eliza and George non-Catholics?  I did locate two 1851 George Dagg marriages in Co. Tipperary in the civil marriage index records. However, the spouse names were not close to Eliza Belshier/Belcher.

The reason I asked about the religious denomination was that starting in 1845 all non-Catholic marriages were civilly registered. The registration of Catholic marriages did not begin until 1864.

I looked at the civil indexes and there is an 1851 George Dagg marriage in the Nenagh registration district and one of the possible spouses was Elizabeth Stanley.

1851 was right before they left and George Dagg is not a very common name.

I thought I would mention this record. Possibly your Eliza was married before. There is another record about this marriage which confirms that this George Dagg married Elizabeth Stanley on 7/30/1851 in Nenagh. Fathers were William Dagg and Henry Stanley.

This may be a completely different couple but I wanted you to be aware of this record.

Yes this does look promising - thanks for researching this. It is helpful that the name Dagg is not very common!
