Ellen married Thomas O'Keefe b. 1847 on December 4 1870 at St Peters Catholic Jersey City New Jersey USA
Her parents were Dennis Hogan and Mary Hogan Together they may have had 10 children in Jersey City New Jersey USA Daniel 1871, Dennis 1873, Mary 1874, Katie 1876, Nellie 1879, (Anna 1881- my Great Grandmother) Rosie 1883, Tessie 1889 and twin boys Thomas and Richard 1885 I believe according to US Census that Ellen emigrated in 1862 Thomas in 1867 Does anyone know of this family in Terryglass? Hi Danny
Just a brief initial message, I have located a baptism record for Ellen Hogan 9th May 1849 in Glenbower which is near the old village of Kilbarron on a hill with a really great view of Lough Derg and the islands.
Terryglass Kilbarron are combined parishes for adminstrative purposes
Cannot see any Thomas O Keefe born anywhere near, do you happen to have a name of either parents
Will search further

Hi Danny
Daniel O Keeffe and Catherine Condone parents of Thomas appear to be from Powerstown parish with is just outside Clonmel Co Tipperary which is approximately 60 miles away from Glenbower, today is could take an hour and a half to drive there so unlikely Thomas and Ellen would have known each other before emigrating
This may be straying off the subject but in searching came across a story of two Condon sisters from Powerstown surviving the sinking of the Titanic and going back there to find their ancestors years several years later
