“ I posted this on the general irelandxo board and had a response from Shanew147 and Roger McDonald directing me to look at Terryglass Union of Kilbarron parish records.
"Am looking to find assistance to trace where in Co Tipperary my Scully family hails from.
Anne (or Jane) Scully was born in 1838 in Co Tipperary to parents Michael Scully and Sarah Donnell. She married Patrick Liddy/Lyddy in Victoria Australia iin 1860.
Her marriage and death certs state her birthplace as Co Tipperary - no parish or townland. Have searched a number of sources; the griffith valuation has Donnell and Scully entries in Nth Riding - but thats about the only linkage I can find.
Any advice would be helpful, thanks”.
I have found the following baptism entries for Scully in the Terryglass Union of Kilbarron parish records.
Alice dau of Michael Scully and Sally Donellan of Springfield bap 20/9/1829 Sponsors Timothy Horan and Judy Donnelly
Mary dau of Michael and Sally Donelan b. 30/10/1831 sponsors Thomas Cantol(?) Jane Donelan
John son of Michael and Sally Donnellan bp 18/8/1833 sponsor William Donoghue
Jane dau of Henry Scully and Margt Hogan of Rocks. bap 16/5/1847 sponsors Patrick and Mary Hogan
Havent found a definitive entry for Anne(Jane) bap around 1838 unfortunately. Any further help would be appreciated, thanks

Hi Carmel
Did a quick search on Roots Ireland and came up with same result as you with John 1833, Mary 1831 and Alice 1829 to Michael Scully and Sarah Donnellan
The only Jane I can find is Jane 1847 to Henry Scully and Margaret Hogan The Rock Terryglass
No Scully names in the parish in 1901 census
Will search further

Carmel i've being trying my best for you but because were going back to the early 1800's and late 1700's it gets more and more difficult. I did find Scully's in Roscrea in North Tipp. If you have anything at all even something you think may not be important pop it up here, the more info. the better.

Thank you Bill Ryan /Terryglass 55 and John Kelly for your help. Alas despite further research I cannot add anything to the above at this stage. Cheers
