Mary Meagher was my great grandmother. According to my research, she was born in Templemore, County Tipperary about 1845. My records would indicate that her father was Charles Meagher (farmer) and her mother was Bridget Walsh. Mary emigrated to Australia (not sure when), and married John Kelly in Balranald, NSW on 12 November 1865. She also had a sister, Honora, born about 1850 who also emigrated to Australia and married Michael Dowdican in Sandhurst (now Bendigo), Victoria on 17 February 1874. I am interested to know how and when they got to Australia, and whether there are still any relatives still in the Templemore region.
