Hello Templemore Community,
I am tracing the Lahy families in Templemore. My great-great grandparents are from the area.
I've found a baptismal record for someone who may be a family member. However, I'm not able to discern the townland as written in either the original ledger or a modern transcript of the ledger. (See attached.) Would you be able to advise? The same parents have a child in Graffin, which is where my family is from. I'm hoping that this "tuberkilla/tubekilla" is in the Graffin area.
Thanks very much for any assistance.

Hi Monique., I searched for this townland in Griffiths valuation in Tipperary north. Searched list of townlands in Co Tipperary. Also searched Co Clare ,Offaly, and Laois. Could not find it. I did see your Lahys in Graffan.
On the register it looks very clear Tuberkilla.
I know from researching my own family tree in Kilnamanagh Lower, some townlands mentioned in the Catholic Church register were not on Griffiths Valuation, but did exist. If you have any questions let me know.
Regards.

Thanks very much Christina, for checking. Everything else has been pretty much discoverable 'til this. I'll keep hunting and let you know.
Thanks again for the reply.

As a follow up Christine, I went back in the Applotment books and found a Tubbersland in Parish Killavenoge. This is the closest thing I've been able to find. I'll put it down as a 'maybe'. Thanks again.

Hi Monique,
Did you find your Lahy's in Tubbersland, I would say its probably the same place.
If you look up the map on Griffiths you may find Tuberkilla on it even though it is not enumerated on Griffiths,.
Best of luck, Let me know if you have any more questions.
Christina.
