James O'Brien (b. 1806 or 1809) lived in Nenagh parish when his son Michael James O'Brien was born 28 Sep 1840. James was married to a Clancy, we believe her first name was Mary. We believe she died in Ireland. James and Michael left for America in about 1858 or 1859. James and his wife were also said to have a daughter that stayed in Ireland. We don't know here name. We'd like to know more about James O'Brien's family and Mary Clancy O'Brien's family. They were Roman Catholics.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

This past Wednesday the National Library of Ireland placed all RC parish registers online for free searching. Here is the link to the Nenagh register: http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0804     You will note that there are a few gaps in the records. No baptisms from December 1842-January 1845. Hopefully, Mary was not baptized in the gap period. Possibly the marriage was also in Nenagh.
