Hi,
My Great-Great Grandfather was born in Moyglass in 1814/15. His name was James Boland. He married Ellen Neagle of Waterford in Newfoundland, Canada in 1853. All I know is that his mother passed away in 1865 and was presumably still in Moyglass. On James' marriage entry in the Basilica register in St. John's, Newfoundland he listed his last place of residence in Ireland as Killenaule. I know from his obituary that he was a native of Moyglass. Im sorry for having so little to go on. My father is planning a trip to Ireland (he's 77) and I'd love to be able to tell him a general area that he could visit in order to find out more about his family from Ireland.
Thanks,
shawn

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Last week the Natiional Library of Ireland placed all RC parish registers online for free searching. The Killenaule/Moyglass register goes way back although there is a gap between 1802-1813. The records pick up in 1814 so there is a good chance that James' baptismal record would be there and possibly siblings. Records back to 1814-1815 may not show a townland. The register link is below. Let me know if you have questions.
