    Welcome back!

    The message was not posted.

I took a quick look for Patrick Lanigan baptismal records on Find My Past. There are a few records in 1828, 1829, 1830 and a Patrick Lonagan in 1825 in Templemore parish. You would need to know his parents names to verify any of these records.By the way, the Moycarkey records start in the late 1700s but there is a gap with the baptismal records from April 1818 through 1829. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0248

  • Hey Marianne,

My 2x great grandfather was Denis Leahy/Leahy born in same area. Possibly Denis and William were related. Have you done any of the genealogy DNA tests, and are you on the Facebook Tipperary genealogy page or gedmatch?

Kathy so your great great grandfather was a Leahy not a Lanigan correct? Patrick Lanigan was born about 1828

  • You have a Margaret Leahy from Moycarky, I have a Dennis Leahy from Moycarky (and I've seen Leahy spelled many different ways in records). Many of these people did not get to go to school so didn't know how to spell well.
