Can anyone tell me where Tinrush Townland is, in Killusty, Fethard area of , Tipperary Co. My great grand mother was Bridget Carey, b. 1827, daughter of William Carey and Catherine Nagle(Naegle)( according to Bridgets death certificate).. I found the William Carey family with Bridget on the same ship as Anthony Carroll of Powerstown , Lisronagh area. They married in Milwaukee, Wi 6 mon. after their emigration. There was no Catherine Carey on ship but Julia Carey instead. I am assuming Catherine died and he remarried before imigration.
I also found the b. of Mary Carey 1-18-1829 to Catherine Nagle and William Carey of Tinrush Townland, Fethard. There is also another daughter Alice b. 1840 and married Philip Neville of Fethard. settling also in Milwaukee, Wi. With the spacing of the children, I'm assuming there are more in between them.
Am looking for any info on these families, and the location of Tinrush townland. Thanks, Carol

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
There is no official townland called Tinrush anywhere in Ireland. Likely it was a place name before the townlands were standardized as part of the 1851 census. I assume you saw Tinrush on a baptismal certificate?

Hello Carol
My Grandfather, Richard Neagle (Nagle) also has Tinrush on his Birth Certificate. He was born in 1860 and immigrated to Australia around1880 . I assumed Tinrush was a district in Killusty as that is where he was born. Richard's Father was Patrick Nagle of Killusty North who died 1901 and I think born around 1815. I think Richard's uncle was William Nagle of Killusty South. Their properties adjoined and the original property had been split.. I believe William and Patrick were brothers and their father was also William Nagle.
I have not done any family tree stuff for years now (on hold). Catherine Nagle is probably related to Patrick and William.
Cheers
