  • Her father's name was William Doherty and they were living in Coolacussane in 1901. Elizabeth was not with the family so maybe she had emigrated by then.http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003908347/  Here is the 1911 census record also. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003295011/  Let me know if you have further questions.  If Elizabeth came into New York, you can check the Ellis Island site www.ellisisland.org If she came directly into Philadelphia, the Mormons have those records digitized at www.familysearch.org Roger McDonnell

  • Hi Roger.

The cencus 1901/1911 are the records of my G'Dad and G.G.G'Dad. William Doherty's Father was John and is listed as a "carpenter" on William and Mary Foleys marriage cert. William was 28 and Mary was 20 at the time of their marriage. They were married on the 12/02/1982. Thomas (my G'Dad) was born on the 24/12/1872 and her married a Winifred Fahey from Borrisokane on the 12/08/1914 in the Church of Lorrha, Terryglass. Tipp. To date I haven't come across an Elizabeth in the clan.

  • I am a native of Annacarty parish and I attach census and Griffith Valuation info. My e mail is foxseamus@gmail.com. Father Beatty Parochial House Annacarty should be able to furnish church records.A Doherty owned the post office in Annacarty 50 years ago. Doherty fairly common name there but Prout no longer exists in the immediate area to my knowledge. More common in Ballingarry 20 miles to the east of the county. My sister in law Josepha O'Dwyer born in Coolacussane. Thomas Ryan Ballybrack , Annacarty maybe a relative. Best of luck in your search.

  • Hello Gerry,Thank You for the Info.Would you know if there were any other Females (or Males) born to William & Mary (Foley) Doherty and if so what were their names.I have a female birth record for one of their children but am unable to read the first name.I also understand that sometimes babys were not given a name until baptism.Thank you again for your help,Ralph.
