Searching for information about my great-grandmother Margaret E Norris, born Oct 1856 in Fethard, Tipperary. Baptized possibly 17 Oct 1856 in SS Peter & Paul Parish. Arrived in the United States in 1874 and married Michael J Townsend from Callan, Kilkenny in 1881 in Boston, MA. She died 25 Jun 1945 in MA. Father believed to be Robert Norris (1814-1879) and Mary F Holmes (1821-1879). Sister Maria or Mariah (May 1861 Ireland – 11 Oct 1903 Cambridge, MA) also arrived in the US in 1874. Picture believed to be Margaret.

I looked up the October 17th 1856 record in St. Peters and Paul and there is no parental information provided. Just an annotation in Latin which I can't determine the translation. "Protest inlabus"
If she was born in Fethard, why was she baptized in Clonmel. Was she Church of Ireland?

My source was a Roots Ireland transcription for a Margaret Norris for a baptism Oct 17, 1856. It also had no parents listed. The Parish/District field was "SS Peter & Paul Parish, Clonmel". The denomination is Roman Catholic. Her name is common and I have so little information possibly this isn't even her. So I will keep looking. Thank you again for your help.
