Hi, I am new to Ireland Reaching out but I have been working on finding my Franklin family roots for about a year. My great grand father was Hugh Franklin from Caher, Tipperary. Hugh and his younger brother Robert emigrated around 1887. They had an older brother William Franklin married to Mary Burns who I believe did not emigrate. On Hugh's and Robert's death certificate William Franklin and Mary Carroll are listed as their parents. I have family information that their father William Franklin had a sister Bridette who married John O'Donnell- some of their children emigrated to Canada. I am interested in finding William Franklin's and Mary Carroll's parents (1800s?) and further validating and connecting this information. Much Thanks. This is fun! Jan Franklin

Dear Tom,
Thank you for all the information. It is amazing to see their names and records and to think their descendents may live in the area. This certainly has added to my research which I will share with my family.
Gratefully,
Jan

Dont know if this info is of any help to you but I am an ODonell whose family originates in Ballydrehid, Canir Tipperary. I have done a fair amount of searching on my family anf several Franklins have popped up. My father John ODonnell immigrated to the US in 1906 with his sister Margaret who was 24 in 1906. She subsequently Married a Will Franklin. Probably in the US but not sure. Interestingly, a Mary Ann Franklin (18 yoa) sailed with my father and his sister and are listed together on the manifest. Mary Ann gives her home as being Tourcan, Cahir. Hope this helps you Franklin searchers.
