Hello any and all Murphy family descendants who are sure their family came from Cahir or surrounds. I would be very interested if any of you have had your DNA tested. I would like to see whether there is any common DNA matched between us.
I am a desendant of Margaret Ann Murphy born 1803 or 1802 to parents James Murphy Junior of Cahir (managed the Glengall Arms Hotel in the town square) and Elizabeth Murphy of Cashel. Yes the same family name so they were probably distantly related. Margaret came to Australia in 1841 and had one child here named Jane Mary Walker. There are now many many descendants here.
