My Great grandfather is Oliver Hazard Mooney born in 1859 in Mississippi USA. I can find no information about his parents in the US. According to family verbal history his parents came over before he was born. Any help as to what parish they may have come from would be helpful. Thanks Julie

Mooney was a very common surname in Ireland in the mid-19th century and was found in almost every county. Very few families, however, in Co. Sligo. It would be very difficult to try to assist you without more information without names and dates.
