I'm hoping to fill in missing peices for my aunt regarding her great-grandparents,  Andrew (loosly AKA Henry) and Bridget (nee Feeny) Kilgalon of Sligo and for their son Patrick J. (aunts grandfather).

I've estimated Andrew and Bridget's birth years to be c.1848 based on their son Patrick's birth year as c.1864. 

What we know to date: Patrick J. Kilgallon married Mary Theresa Fitzgerald in 1883 in Quebec , the marriage registration names his parents as Henry and Bridget (nee Feeney) Kilgallon of Sligo. From family stories we also know Patrick has a brother James and perhaps (2) sisters.  Patrick and Mary relocated to Boston in 1887 with their daughter Isabella, within a few years they would have two more daughters, Mary Ann (b.1887)  and Catherine (b.1890).  Patrick and his brother James where waiters from 1888 - 1895 according to family lore and supported by City Directories. Family lore states Patrick came to the hospital in 1912 to see his wife before she died, there is no further informtation or sightings of Patrick ever again.

My hope is to find informatiion regarding Patrick but more importantly, information pertaining to great-grandparents Andrew and Bridget.  I have searched available records on FindMyPast, Churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie, Family Search, and Roots Ireland to no avail; any help or ideas to continue my search is greatly appreciated.

    I did not find a record for Patrick but found seven children (on Roots Ireland) of Andrew Kilgallen and Bridget Feeney in the Drumcliff RC records. ( I showed the transcriptions for three of the children below). The children located were James 1849 Michael 1851 Bridget 1861 Catherine 1863 Anne 1868 Andrew 1871 Joseph 1873 Margaret 1874  Possibly these children are from two different couples and I note a ten year gap between 1851 and 1861  I would scan the register http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0555  and see what other records may be there.

  • Thank you Roger,  I did come across the three children youmentioned above, I am leaning towards Drumcliff as the family parish.  I'll scan the register link above for other Kilgallon/Feeny baptisms/births, maybe Ill get lucky and find Patrick's birth !
