My Great Grandmother Maria Louisa Collins was born in Sligo around 1857-1858. She named her son, William Charles Pascoe Crabb. No one knew where the family name of Pascoe came from. I found a John George Pascoe Collins born at Kilmacshalgar, Pullendiva, County Sligo on 26th of April 1854. I believe there is a connection as he joined the family business, the Royal Navy. His father could have been William H Collins, my Great Great Grandfather. William H Collins was living with his daughter, Maria Louisa Collins, in Stoke Damerel, Devonport, close to Plymouth, along with my one year old Grandfather William George Pascoe Crabb. He later went on to serve in the Royal Navy like his father, his Grandfather and several uncles. William H Collins was born in London, Middlesex, around 1819, probably to a Royal Naval family. Can anyone help with further Sligo connections?

  • Keep us updated nonetheless. You could have a look at the National Archives in Kew, London re the navy aspect
