My Great Grandfather Patrick J Finneran was born in the townland of Kellybrook, Parish of Killinvoy, Co. Roscommon in 1818. He immigrated to the USA in 1849 arriving in new Bedford, Mass. He married Ann Eliza Tierney of Kings Court, Co. Cavan in 1851.
He was a son of Patrick Finneran and Mary Kilmartin. Looking for any records on my Grandparents or Great Grandparents

Have you tried looking for information on the your great grandparents in church records? Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may be helpful is the irishtimes. Here they give information on what records are available in specific parishes. For Killinvoy parish follow this link:
If the family followed the Church of Ireland check http://www.ireland.anglican.org/index.php?do=information&id=63
You could also check for some record of the family in the Tithe Applotment Books. These were land records compliled between 1823 and 1838 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. You can search these online at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
You could also check the later land record called Griffith's Valuation. This dates from 1848-1864. You may find some record of any family that remained in Ireland in this. You can search it here:

Have you looked into Patrick's emigration much? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure, so immigration records can often be a good place to find information. For immigration records in the US check the US National Archives at http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
