I am looking to locate any documents with my great grandmother's family information. I only know her date of birth above and that she emigrated to the US when she married Alexander Mooney around 1911. Her dauther (my grandmother) Susan Mooney was born in New York and shortly thereafter the family moved back to Ireland. They stayed for a few years and returned to New York without my grandmother who was raised by her maternal grandmother in Ireland until age 14 when she moved back to the US to join her family. My grandmother passed away and the only information my mother and aunts can remember is that she lived on a farm with her grandmother who I assume is a McGuire/Maguire and that her mother Elizabeth had three sisters; Agnes, (who married) Lena, and Mary (who never married). There were no brothers. My mother and aunts remember my grandmother saying she lived in Aughegad and that it was near Castlecoote, but no one can confirm. The only other information I have is that most of the family moved to either England or Australia and there is no family left in the area. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
If I have the correct Maguire/McGuire family, there were 12 children in total and Elizabeth was born in 1883-1884. The townland was Aghagad. There were two James and Mary Maguire/McGuire families in the townland and it appears that Elizabeth was part of the larger family. Ok now I located her baptismal record in September 1884 so she made herself three years younger. See below. I did not find a marriage record so I believe they married in the USA.
Let me know if you have questions.

Hi,
My mother, Margaret Mary Kenny attended Castlecoote National School, 1913-1923 and I have a clear memory of her telling me of the girls who came and went from the school during that period. When I saw the name Susan Mooney it literally jumped out at me as that was a name she mentioned of a pupil who attended the school for some time.
My mother died 1996, having been born in 1907.
School roll books pertaining to that time are now stored in Fuerty National School which is under the management of R.C. Church. A new priest has been appointed and will take up duty in November when I will request to view them. I have viewed them previously and would be hopeful that it will be possible to view them again.
I will keep you updated!
