I located the birth or baptismal records for Martha and James. They were born later than I thought. I also found the 1901 and 1911 census records for each family. Note for some reason, James was not with his family in 1901 but is there in 1911. Maybe he was with a grandparent in 1901.

I will look for more information on the parents of Martha and James.
