Looking for the following Birmingham's/Carney's
Peter & Catherine Birmingham and son Thomas Patrick
Willam & Wife and daughter Elizabeth Carney
My 3 x g grand parents Peter and Catherine Birmingham b 1825 Ireland - possibly Offally/Galway
Peter is known to be the father, and Catherine is thought to be mother to Thomas Patrick b 1845.
My 2 x Great Grandfather is Patrick Thomas Birmingham b 1845 Ireland
He married Elizabeth Carney b1845 on 27 August 1875 both aged 21 in Oldham UK
(She was also known as Betsey, (Carley/Kearn/Carney) He was known as Patrick or Thomas depending on which document you look at)
I have found both on the 1871 UK census at 7 Ironmonger Street, Oldham UK but by 1881 Patrick is Widow, however, I can, not find a record of Elizabeths death.
Thomas and Elizabeth had several children on the 1881 Census, John (1866), Peter (1871- My G Grandfather), Margaret (1874 who emigrated to Ellis Island USA and was in Boston in December 1927), Mary (1877), Kate (1879) who married and emigrated to USA named Dyer, William (1880) who also appears to have died in (1880)
Margaret is known to be at 22 Alabama Street, Rosslindale, Boston, Mass. USA in December 1927 living in the house of Mr Dyer, who I assume at the moment is her sister Kate and her husband. There is also a Constance in the mix in USA and sounds like being a young person, I think the daughter of the Dyers
Thanks

Hi Janette
Sorry for delay in posting a reply. Was trying to try and find some records that may answer your query. Firstly, just want to check a few items with you.
Marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth, you say was on 27/8/1875 both aged 21 in U.K. Have you a copy of marriage record to attach? Your post has both born in 1845, however if they were actually aged 21 (or over 21) they would have both been born in 1854. What age was Patrick on the 1881 census and both on the 1871 census? Also it would appear from other information of the children's ages that some of them were born before their parents were married, which would have been quite unusual in those times. I could find no records for a Thomas or Patrick born in 1854 or 1845 with father Peter. Was his father's name given on the Marriage record and also was Elizabeth's? Was Elizabeth born in Ireland?
Sorry have no information for you, will have another look if you can clarify any of the above.
Kind regards
Margaret
