I am seeking any information at all about Ellen O'Donoghue and her family (ancestors and descendants).
According to marriage registration, her parents were Cornelius O'Donoghue (spelling may vary) and Ellen Daven. Place of birth is listed as Moneygall (King's County). Her father was a commercial traveler. Her estimated date of birth (from the death certificate) was 18 Sep 1865.
Anecdotal information says she emigrated to Queensland, Australia about 1885 with her sister Mary and apparently their brothers emigated to America.
I have had no luck so far tracking any further information about Ellen and her family. Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you. I just noticed a typo - her mother should be Ellen Davern. I'll wait to hear further. Thanks again.

Thank you for looking for me Henry. Were you looking at a transcription or at a copy of the actual parish register? I also found this entry in a copy of the parish register some time ago and the mother's name in the register reads as Dynan. At the time, as it was the only one I found that was even close, I thought it must be the one. However, the information on her death certificate is very precise Date of death 19 Dec 1940 75y 3m 1d which gives an estimated birth from age at death of 18 Sep 1865. I understand that people's birth years were 'flexible' but it makes less sense that the date and month would change as well.
Her marriage certificate (transcription) 09 DEC 1893, aged 29 years estimated birth year 1864 may or may not be accurate either.
Like you, I have not found records of any other baptisms with Con & Ellen as parents or a marriage record in that parish. I would be more certain if I could find other corroborating information, such as a sister Mary or brothers.
On her marriage certificate, her father's occupation was recorded as a commercial traveller. I would like to know more about what that meant in the context of the time. I wonder if the family had no fixed abode at the time of her birth? It also says Moneygall, Queen's County but to my knowledge there is only one Moneygall.
I am really pleased to have the additional information regarding godparents and the townland (which I found hard to decipher previously) leading to the Griffith Valuation entry.
Thanks for your help.

Finally, I have now found further information that supports that the above baptism may be the correct one. I have traced Ellen's sister Mary in northern Queensland. On her marriage registration 1880 her parents are noted as Cornelius O'Donohue, steward and Ellen Daniel, birthplace Macroom, Cork. Death registration 1938 lists her parents as Cornelius O'Donohue, overseer and Ellen Dynan, birthplace Inniskillin, Fermanagh. So still some inconsistencies between the two sources that need resolving.
Cornelius Donohoe is in Griffiths Valuation in the Town of Macroom. I have not yet found a marriage for Cornelius O'Donohue and Ellen Dynan or births of any other children. Presumably, John Donoghue in the town land Ballingrawn or Ballingorraun (Griffith Valuation published in 1851), where Ellen was born in 1862, was a relative of Cornelius, possibly his father as Ellen named her first son John Philip (Philip being her husband's father's name).
So thanks again for your help.
