I'm trying to trace the parents of Elizabeth Madill (born c 1865) Her marriage certificate (to Joseph A Deering) states her name as Lizzie and father as Alexander. Just found a birth for Eliza Anne (Family Search) and mother Mary Anne Sharpe in Drum 1865. I see that Mary Sharpe also had chiuldren by James Madill and can find no other children by Alexander. Does anyone have any further information, please?

The 1861 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing shows an Alexander Madill living in Magheranure townland in Clones civil parish. Possibly this is the father of Elizabeth.
I looked for civil birth index records for Elizabeth in the Clones registration district. There were no records for 1865 but there was a record in 1868. See below. NOTE if Elizabeth was born 1863 or earlier there would be no civil record.
I also looked for civil marriage index record for Alexander Madill. There was an 1850 record for an Alexander Madill marrying a Mary Ann Sharp. (See below). You can get copies of these records for around 4 euros each from the General Register Office. if you plan to get copies let me know and I will forward instructions.

Thank you so much for unlocking my past! I had just found a birth for Lizzie Madill in Drum in 1865. Her father was listed on her marriage cert as a merchant and i know that together with her husband she ran Andersons in the village of Drum so I'm hoping all connects! I will send for the certificates from the GRO tomorrow
