I am looking for my ancestor William Flynn born in aprox, 1797 in the Bantry Bay area.  A baptismal record with this name and year was found from this parish.  I was wondering what information is on the certificate.  Does it have names of parents? Any information on this William Flynn would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks for all the help.  I have been doing more research and my ancestors full name is James William Flynn but I believe he went by William.  I am not sure if he was born in the states or in Ireland.  Our family lore says he was kidnapped from his mother while they were watching the ships at port in Bantry Bay.  He sailed to the states somehow and became an indentured servant for a plantation owner named Hutchinson.  He became the foreman of the plantation and married the owners daughter Annie Hutchinson who was disowned because her father did not approve of the marraige.  This is all unverified and just past down from generation to generation.  I have know idea how to find out if this story is true or who my ancestors in Ireland are.  Any help is appreciated!
