There are no Quinns in the 1841 Irish Census (available free at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

There are 43 Quinns in Cork in the Tithe Applotments in the 1820's & 30's but Mitchelstown isn't mentioned.

The birth record agrees with the 1839 above so we could be on the money here.

The Hayler Kelly Bowe and Gree tree has the same with this:

This is unbelievable!!! How did you DO that so quickly! I kid you not I have been trawling through Ancestory and TROVE and the Irish records for months trying to pin point my James Quinn and here you turn up more information than i could have ever dreamed in no time at all! I do hope you understand I did try and I wasn't just being lazy about it! I really felt like I was at a total dead end and now OH MY GOODNESS YOU FOUND HIM!! and on Australian Ancestry.com.au too! I must say I'm a cross between a little embarrassed by my ineptitude and absolutely totally thrilled! Oh thank you thank you thank you! I will contact Saye Noonan via Ancestory.com.au as it appears there is information I can provide that they don't have including the information about his first wife Mary Dixon which I have to admit she was a really difficult lady to track down and her family is appearing a bit of a difficulty also as I haven't been able to locate any birth record for hear and only "Near Clarence Town" is listed on the marriage and death cert. Oh but thank you so much for this! Thank you!
