John and Genevive Kellett lived in a cottage in Rosehill Mullagh Cavan County.  I do have a photo of the home.  He was a farmer and the father of nine children who were all baptized and raised catholic. I have exhausted all resources. I have found John on two seperate census. I was told thart Genevieve died after giving birth to my grand mother Margaret in September "1889"  John was catholic and Genevieve a protestant so I am aware that they would not have been buried together. Michael their son would have probably been buried close to his father.  We don't even know Genevieve's maiden name.  We would appreciate any help.  Peggy

Mullagh parish is in the Kells registration district. I found a birth record in 1890 for a Margaret Kellett and I'm wondering if this may be your grandmother. There was no birth in 1888 and 1889 for a Margaret Kellett in the Kells district. I looked at the death index records for all Kelletts and there was no one who had died in 1890. there were no registered deaths at all for a Genevieve Kellett. You can contact the General Register Office to get a copy of this birth record for around 4 euros. The birth record will show the names of the parents and where they lived. Instructions for getting a copy are below the index record. let me know if you have questions.

Go to this link http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx In the middle of the page there are links for birth, marriage or death certificates. Hit the link for the form you want. You will likely get a screen asking for a User Name and Password. (This is a program bug that the GRO has to correct). Hit cancel and the appropriate form should come up. Print the form and complete the requested information. Also provide the information from the index record--quarter/year of the event, registration district and the volume and page number where the event is recorded. Make sure you ask for a copy which costs around 4 euros. ( A cert costs closer to 20 euros). You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copy back to you.
