Looking for my ancestral history on my Irish side. My great great great grandfather was born in Ireland. His name is John George Dillion born 1868 we have county Meath as a location.. However, another relative thinks northern Ireland could be a possibility as well. Can anyone help with finding This history.

Thanks for your message. As John was born after 1864 (the year civil registration became mandatory) there should be a civil record of his birth. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office. Here are their contact details:

You could also try looking t the church records that are available online, however these websites do not have complete collections:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
