Here is my Michael Doherty listed on the 1901 census with his mother and his brother Danny:

I don't know what happened to Michael.  I do know his brother John (my grandfather) left Ireland for Scotland in 1907.  Daniel may have moved to Dublin.

I thought Michael may have died when he was young since the family never spoke of him but he was still alive in 1901.  I'm looking for a possible marriage and death info.

I don't see Michael in the 1911 census for Derry. You can search www.familysearch.org for marriage and death index records. There were 7 Michael Doherty marriages from 1902-1919 in the Londonderry registration district.

I also looked for death index records for Michael Dohertys in Londonderry after 1901 and the only one with a DOB around 1870 is the one below. I have no idea if this is your relative. The name is very common.

For marriage and death index records, you can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie for a copy of the record. You need to fill out their form and provide the info in the index record regarding date of the event, registration district and the volume and page number. A copy costs around 4 euros. Good luck!
