Trying to help a friend with locating her relations in Ireland. Know that Bernard Dunn(e?) married a Margaret Anne McCabe around 1855 and the two had many children (surprise!). Her direct descendent is a James T. Dunn(e?) and there is conflict over whether he was born in Ireland or immediately upon his parents arrival in the US (Iowa) in 1869. I've never researched back this far in Ireland before...can anyone help? Thank you!

    I searched Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie and they did not have any James Dunn baptismal records or civil birth records with parents Bernard and Margaret for the years 1865-1869. 

    I'd be inclined to say that James was born in the USA.

    I also looked for a marriage record for Bernard and Margaret from 1850-1860 on Roots with no success. A good number of churches do not have marriage records that go back to 1850-1860 so it is likely they were married in one of those churches.
