Hello,
I am pretty sure the marriage record I found on Irish Family History Foundation is that of Patrick Touey (now spelled here this way) (born around 1809) and Sabina Gibbons (born Jan 1824), my gr gr grandfather and gr gr grandmother in Oughaval RC parrish, County Mayo, on September 7, 1843. They came and settled in Philadelphia with three of their children: Patrick (born around 1854), John (born around 1852), and Mariah (born around 1850). They were hostlers, harness makers, and upholsterers in Philadelphia in the 1870's thru the 1920's. In the census of 1870, they spell the name Tou, in 1880 Toohey, and then in 1900, Touey.
I appreciate any help you can give me on finding out more about them. The witnesses at the marriage were Patrick and Mary Kitrick. I find a couple by this name coming over from Westport in 1848 and settling in the same neighborhood as my ancestors.
Thanks,
Anne Urevick Lavery

Anne:
I assume you don't know the exact year the family left Ireland. I located the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Oughaval civil parish http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/mayo/oughaval.htm There is a Patrick Tuohy listed in Killaghoor townland. Possibly this is the Patrick who emigrated to Philadelphia and his family. You will also note on this file that there are two James Kittricks listed. Possibly there is a connection to the Patrick Kitrick who left Ireland in 1848.
Possibly the RC parish register for Oughaval may provide some clues on your family. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1043

Anne,
My name is Larry Clay. I also sent you an email. The record you found represents our shared ancestors. They were married and rented a small house and office in Killaghoor, a smallish town land just outside Westport. Prior to that they both lived in Cordarragh North about 4 miles south. I have maps and records. Check your email or let me know and I will fill you in on whatever I have.
Regards,
Larry

Hello Larry,
I don't know if you have my correct email: Anne.M.Lavery@gmail.com or Anne.M.Urevick@gmail.com Since I haven't heard from you, I am thinking it was sent to an old address I no longer have access to.
Thanks,
Your cousin,
