Hello,
I am searching for information on the Mortmer Family from County Mayo. My Great-Grandfather, Michael Mortimer emigrated to the United States from County Mayo sometime around the 1880's. He was born approximately 1865-1868 in Ireland. He came to Chicago, Illinois and married my Great-Grandmother, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Matthews. I am new to this type of research and would love to find my ancestrial roots.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

I will alert our parish liaison for Oughaval that you have posted a message. Do you know Michael's parents names? There are civil birth records in Mayo in 1866, 1867 and 1869 for a Michael Mortimer.
