Searching  for any information/ other family members of William Farrell born 1841 or 1842 in Co. Mayo.  At some point, he moved to Lancashire, England.  He appears to have had a brother named Fergus who also came to Lancashire where they lived until their respective deaths.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Lynn:

Roots Ireland www.rootsireland.ie has an 1841 baptismal record for a William farrell in the Aglish RC church records. Aglish is the civil parish for the town of Castlebar.

I would treat this record as a possible lead. I was unable to locate a similar record for a Fergus Farrell.

The 1856 Griffiths valuation head of household listing shows six Farrell entries in the parish.

Just so you know, Roots is a pay site to view a transcription of a church record. They now require that you get a subscription to their records.
